New Cartier Calibre Diver Watch For 2014

Earlier, Cartier has released a new Cartier Calibre Diver Watch. Compared with its former, we can find some changes on this watch.

Since I’m very keen on rotating diver's style bezels, that I welcome adding this element towards the overall Calibre case design. The inwardly tilted and slightly glossy bezel is created from aDLC covered steel, which causes it to be rather scratch resistant while offering a rather different look compared to ceramic bezels you regularly see today. Ceramic bezels are frequently flat or very angular, and also the bezel here around the Calibre Diver is performed with slightly much softer edges which I like.

The diver's bezel is really a major element which enables Cartier to own Calibre Diver an ISO 6425 "dive watch rating," and yet another major element (additionally towards the dial lume) may be the depth rating from the watch. Offering 300 meters water resistance, the Calibre Diver, is really a true "dive watch." Though this element will get a little interesting.

The Cartier Calibre Diver includes a solid versus exhibition caseback, a screw-lower crown, and merely one extra millimeter of case thickness. That's all to visit from 30 to 300 meters water resistance. The initial Calibre includes a 10mm thick case and also the Calibre Diver is nearly 11mm thick. Many brands even make reference to 11mm being an "ultra thin watch."

I might have pointed out this previously, but I like the thought of thin watches for diving (despite the fact that I rather ironically also like the thought of very thick watches for diving). At 42mm wide and 11mm thick, the Calibre Diver wears very nicely around the wrist by having an admirable width along with a very svelte profile for any watches for diving.

The finishing around the Calibre case happens to be impressive which isn't any different around the Cartier Calibre Diver. The majority of the case is brushed but you will find carefully beveled edges that greatly increase the elegance. Around the crown side from the watch, the skinny polished lines round the crown guard are lovely, which help frame the normal sapphire crystal cabochon within the crown. It appears black really, however in the sunshine you can observe the cabochon is actually dark blue. I believe Cartier did this purposely to assist it match the black tones from the watch.

Around the dial, the thing is a couple of changes in comparison towards the standard Cartier Calibre. Initially, they appear exactly the same, but searching their way alongside, you can observe a remodeled minute track, subsidiary seconds dial, and elevated quantity of lume. It is not that certain is much more attractive compared to other, but you should be familiar with the variations. Are all quite legible while offering that half Roman numbers and half baton hour markers style dial.

The subsidiary seconds dial around the Cartier Calibre Diver is extremely legible having a great searching matte whitened hand. The hour and minute hands may have been increased just a little with increased lume for that diver look, for me, but is not bad the actual way it is. Obviously, there's the "open date window," which I'm not deeply in love with, but I have learned to endure it on otherwise nice dials like the Calibre. Within the dial is really a slightly domed sapphire crystal. It really works nicely enough, but it may need additional anti-reflective (AR) coating.

Within the Cartier Calibre Diver is identical movement as with the conventional Calibre, the Cartier in-house made caliber 1904MC. Also called the 1904-PS MC, the movement includes a power reserve of 48 hrs and works at 4Hz. At approximately 4mm thick, it's attractive and Cartier's primary workhorse movement, made to energy a lot of its watches. Obviously, you cannot view it with the rear from the watch, but that's area of the "dive" watch character from the Cartier Calibre Diver.

By 2014, this solid 18k rose gold form of the Cartier Calibre Diver is easily the most high-end model available. There is not one of these simple on a bracelet, however the other Cartier Calibre Diver models are. This is really a lifestyle item that the design and quality of this watch is really elegant and excellent, although it’s a dive watch.
